COOPERTOWN, TN – A motorcyclist was killed in a freak accident on Thursday evening, when a lightning strike caused a tree to fall on top of the vehicle.
News Channel 5 reports that a Honda XLR was eastbound on Mcmahan Hollow Road while a Nissan Titan approached from the west. A lightning bolt struck a nearby tree as the vehicles passed one another, causing it to drop on top of them.
The motorcyclist was killed in the collision. It is unclear whether anyone in the other vehicle was hurt.
