NASHVILLE, TN – Metro police believes a medical episode may have been the main contributing factor in a fatal single-vehicle crash in Nashville Sunday evening.
According to a report by WSMV, the 46-year-old victim was driving himself to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with chest pains when he slumped over behind the wheel of his vehicle.
The car then collided with a Buick before skidding off the roadway and crashing into a home within the 2000 block of Beechwood Avenue.
The driver was rushed to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later. His wife and a third passenger were also in the vehicle at the time of the crash. They did not suffer any serious injuries as a result.
