NASHVILLE, TN – One man was taken into custody after a single-vehicle crash on I-40 West on Sunday evening.
According to WKRN, the accident took place at about 4 p.m. near Exit 208 to Jefferson Street, just northwest of downtown.
Witnesses told police the male driver attempted to merge across multiple lanes of traffic when he lost control and crashed into the guardrail. Another bystander reported seeing the driver not brake or slow at all prior to the crash.
The 10-month-old passenger in the vehicle was taken to Vanderbilt Pediatrics with non-life-threatening injuries.
The man responsible for the crash was taken into custody on suspicion of DUI, endangerment, and drug charges after marijuana was found in the vehicle.
