LAGUARDO, TN – Three people died as the result of a major collision on TN-109 early Saturday morning.
According to a report by the Portland Sun, the accident took place at about midnight near the intersection with Academy Road.
Investigators say the driver of a 2004 Ford Expedition lost control of the vehicle, causing it to veer off the left shoulder. The Ford then re-entered the highly and rolled several times, ejecting two passengers in the process.
The driver and another passenger were pronounced dead at the scene. One passenger was hit by several other vehicles and succumbed to their injuries at the hospital.
At least three additional vehicles were involved in the crash. None of those drivers suffered injuries as a result.
