GREENBRIER, TN – A teen from Greenbriar was killed following a major single-vehicle crash in the Cross Plains area on Sunday afternoon.
According to Smokey Barn News, the incident occurred at about 2:15 p.m. along Pleasant Grove Road, near the Jernigan Road intersection.
Troopers with THP say the 19-year-old male driver of a 2000 Toyota SUV was heading east on Pleasant Grove Rd. when he lost control for unknown reasons and veered off the roadway.
The driver then attempted to swerve back onto the roadway, causing the vehicle to overturn and slide off the opposite side before striking a tree.
Despite the paramedic’s attempts at life-saving measures, the driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
