NASHVILLE, TN – A pedestrian has died after they were struck and killed by a vehicle in downtown Nashville Thursday morning.
According to News Channel 5, the fatal collision took place on 13th Avenue South near Demonbreun Street around 4:30 AM on January 13th.
The pedestrian was reportedly walking in the middle of the roadway. The driver struck the pedestrian while they were attempting to turn onto the I-40 entrance ramp. Police state that the driver did not see the pedestrian.
The pedestrian was taken to the hospital from the scene. They unfortunately succumbed to their injuries shortly after arrival.
The driver is not currently facing any charges.
The area surrounding the crash was shut down until 7:00 AM.
