NASHVILLE, TN – A pedestrian was struck and killed by a pickup truck in a hit-and-run collision in Nashville Friday night.
According to WSMV, the fatal crash took place on Elm Hill Pike on January 21st.
The pedestrian was reportedly walking in the right turn lane at the time of the crash. There are no sidewalks on that portion of Elm Hill Pike. A Dodge pickup truck struck the pedestrian and subsequently fled the scene.
First responders transported the pedestrian to Vanderbilt University Medical Center. They unfortunately succumbed to their injuries shortly after.
The driver of the Dodge pickup truck returned to the scene and confessed to hitting the pedestrian. Police report that the driver showed signs of impairment.
The driver has been charged with driving under the influence and leaving the scene of an accident involving death.
