NASHVILLE, TN – An Uber driver was killed and three others suffered injuries resulting from a major crash on the shoulder of I-24 early Sunday morning.

According to WTVF, an Uber driver stopped changing a flat tire along I-24 near Murfreesboro Pike. While assessing the situation the driver told his two passengers to call a second Uber to pick them up.

Once the second Uber arrived, the driver exited his vehicle to assist the other driver. At this point, all four individuals were standing on the shoulder of the road.

A Honda SUV rounded the curve and skidded off the roadway before crashing into the vehicles and people on the shoulder.

The second Uber driver sustained fatal injuries in the wreck. The two passengers were hospitalized with varying injuries and the first driver suffered minor injuries.

The 26-year-old driver of the SUV remained at the scene. It is unclear if that individual will face any charges at this time.

NASHVILLE, TN – Metro police are searching for the driver responsible for a fatal hit-and-run collision in southeast Nashville early Saturday morning.

According to WSMV, the crash was reported at about 5:40 a.m. within the 300 block of Haywood Lane, near the intersection with Chambers Drive.

Investigators say a 55-year-old man was struck by a blue Hyundai, which immediately sped away from the scene. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

The suspect is believed to be a white male, no further identifying details have been provided.

NASHVILLE, TN – Major delays were reported following a collision along a busy on-ramp near the Nashville airport on Friday morning.

According to Total Traffic Nashville, the incident was first reported at about 7:43 a.m. along the southbound ramp from Briley Parkway to eastbound I-40.

It is unclear exactly what caused the crash at this time. However, the ramp was halted for about a half-hour while crews worked to move the wreckage from the lanes of travel.

No injuries have been reported at this time.

KNOXVILLE, TN – Two adults and one child were hospitalized following a multi-vehicle crash in north Knox County on Tuesday night.

According to WBIR, the crash occurred at the intersection of Maynardville Pike and Majors Road when one vehicle sideswiped another.

The second vehicle involved in the crash rolled over in the roadway. All three occupants in that vehicle, two adults and one child, were taken to the University of Tennessee Medical Center.

NASHVILLE, TN – A driver was taken into custody following a suspected DUI crash in south Nashville that took the life of his passenger on Thursday.

According to WZTV, the accident occurred at about 8 a.m. along Old Hickory Boulevard.

Police say the 47-year-old male suspect was traveling east when his vehicle veered across the roadway and struck a fire hydrant before overturning.

The 44-year-old female passenger in the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver was arrested and is facing charges of vehicular homicide by intoxication.

COFFEE CO., TN – Troopers with the Tennessee Highway Patrol responded to a multi-vehicle crash in Coffee County late Thursday morning.

According to a report by Tennessee 511, the crash occurred at about 11:45 a.m. in the westbound lanes of I-24, near White Oaks.
