    Driver killed in crash involving semi on I-24 in South Nashville

    NASHVILLE, TN – A man was killed early this morning when his vehicle collided with a semi truck on eastbound I-24 in South Nashville, WKRN reports.

    The incident happened shortly after midnight on May 6, when a Volkswagen Jetta collided with the back of a semi truck that had slowed for construction work near the interchange from I-24 to I-440.

    Emergency responders pronounced the Jetta’s 45-year-old driver dead at the scene. Further investigations are ongoing.

    The wreck closed I-24’s eastbound lanes for approximately three hours, reopening at about 3:30 a.m.

    MADISON, TN – A motorist was killed early today  in a fiery collision that closed the eastbound lanes of Vietnam Veterans Boulevard for most of the morning.

    News Channel 5 reports that the crash happened at about 2:30 a.m. on May 6, between New Shackle Island Rod and Gallatin Pike.

    Motorist killed following 2-car crash on I-24 in Rutherford Co.

    ANTIOCH, TN – A man from Murfreesboro died in a two-vehicle collision on I-24 on Saturday, WZTV reports.

    The wreck happened at about 7:15 p.m. on May 1 near milepost 67 of eastbound I-24, near the town of Aberdeen Park. A car clipped another vehicle as it was making a lane change, causing the struck vehicle to overturn.

    The 58-year-old driver of the struck vehicle was killed as a result of the collision. The other driver was unhurt.

    Further investigations are ongoing.

    2 killed in head-on crash on Wilson Pkwy in Lincoln Co.

    FAYETTEVILLE, TN – Two people died as the result of a head-on crash on the Wilson Parkway on Monday, WHNT reports.

    The collision occurred in front of Fayetteville High School, where an eastbound truck drifted into the westbound lanes and collided with an oncoming vehicle.

    The driver of the westbound vehicle died at the scene. The driver of the eastbound vehicle was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he died a short time later.

    Authorities are continuing to investigate.
