NASHVILLE, TN – One person died and another suffered critical injuries after a four-vehicle collision Friday morning. 

According to FOX 17, the fatal crash took place on Briley Parkway near McGavock Pike around 6:00 AM on March 4th.

A 2021 Kia Forte was forced to slow down suddenly due to traffic. A 1997 Toyota 4Runner was unable to brake in time and rear-ended the Kia. The impact pushed the Kia into the far left lane where it struck a Chevrolet Sonic and a Subaru Forester. The Toyota overturned as a result of the crash.

The front seat passenger of the Kia unfortunately died as a result of their injuries. The driver of the Kia also suffered critical injuries and remains hospitalized.

Metro police concluded that the crash was caused by improper following on the part of the driver of the Toyota 4Runner.
