LAWRENCE CO., TN – Five people suffered injuries after their vehicle was washed away due to high water Thursday morning.
According to WKRN, the crash took place off Mount Zion Road around 3:30 AM on January 20th.
High water reportedly swept the vehicle off the roadway. All five occupants were able to escape the vehicle and find higher ground where they called for help.
All five occupants suffered injuries related to hypothermia and exposure. They received medical treatment at the scene but refused hospitalization.
Tennessee Highway Patrol and the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office continue to investigate the incident.
