KNOXVILLE, TN – Two people were sent to the hospital following a head-on collision in Knox County on Wednesday morning, WATE reports.
The crash took place at about 10 a.m. along East Emory Road, near the Greenwell Road intersection.
Firefighters say both drivers needed to be extricated from their vehicles. They were subsequently transported to a nearby trauma center in serious condition.
The cause of the crash is unclear at this time.
