NASHVILLE, TN – A man was killed after his vehicle collided with a moving train near downtown Nashville early Thursday morning, WSMV reports.
The accident took place as the 25-year-old male driver went through the railroad crossing arms near the intersection of 12th Avenue and Clinton Street.
The vehicle then slammed into the side of the moving train, killing the driver.
The train conductor did not realize it had been hit and continued down the tracks. It was located sometime later by police.
It is unclear at this time what caused the man to drive through the railroad crossing signs.
