NASHVILLE, TN – Three people were injured following a high-speed crash in the Priest Lake area on Thursday morning.
According to a report by WKRN, the crash occurred following a short pursuit that began at about 1 a.m.
Police say the officer initiated the chase after nearly being struck head-on by a vehicle on Murfreesboro Road. The pursuit was terminated due to the suspect’s dangerous speed.
Moments later, the driver skidded off the road near the intersection of Mt. View Road and Painter Drive and overturned at least one time, ejecting two occupants.
The third occupant was pinned inside the vehicle and needed to be extricated by emergency crews.
All three occupants were hospitalized in critical condition, one with potentially life-threatening injuries.
Police believe speed was a major factor in the collision.
