NASHVILLE, TN – A driver was taken into custody following a suspected DUI crash in south Nashville that took the life of his passenger on Thursday.
According to WZTV, the accident occurred at about 8 a.m. along Old Hickory Boulevard.
Police say the 47-year-old male suspect was traveling east when his vehicle veered across the roadway and struck a fire hydrant before overturning.
The 44-year-old female passenger in the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver was arrested and is facing charges of vehicular homicide by intoxication.
