NASHVILLE, TN – A man is facing a number of charges after he sideswiped a police cruiser in an attempt to flee law enforcement in the Hermitage area Tuesday morning.
According to a report by WKRN, the driver speed away from officers sometime before 5 a.m.
The driver and vehicle were located a short time later in a yard on Spera Pointe Crossing. Police say the man got out and attempted to flee on foot.
While a passenger in the vehicle was being interviewed by police, the suspect came back and got in the vehicle. He then put it in reverse and sideswiped a police cruiser before running over a tree and getting struck.
The man was booked into Metro Jail on charges including reckless endangerment, evading arrest, and vandalism.
