SPENCER, TN – One person died and another suffered injuries after flash flooding caused a single-vehicle crash in Spencer on Wednesday evening.
According to WKRN, the fatal accident took place on Mooneyham Lonewood Road around 5:00 PM on October 6th. The vehicle was swept off the road due to the flooding.
There were two occupants in the vehicle at the time of the accident. One suffered injuries, but was eventually rescued by first responders. The other occupant of the vehicle sadly died at the scene.
Tennessee Highway Patrol continues to monitor flash flood warnings and road closures in the area.
