NASHVILLE, TN – One person sustained serious injuries in a multi-vehicle accident on I-40 Thursday night.
According to WSMV, the crash took place on I-40 at the site of a paving project on November 11th. The exact mile marker is unknown at this time.
A Mustang collided with a Tennessee Department of Transportation Work Truck. The initial collision caused several other vehicles behind the Mustang to crash into each other as well. The exact number of vehicles involved is unknown at this time.
The Mustang and the TDOT work truck both caught fire upon impact.
The driver of the Mustang suffered critical injuries. Their current condition remains unknown.
It is unclear if anyone else involved sustained injuries.
Tennessee Highway Patrol continues to investigate the cause of the crash.
