KNOXVILLE, TN – A pedestrian was fatally struck while attempting to cross I-40 in Knoxville this morning.
According to WOKI-FM, the 21-year-old man was attempting to cross the westbound lanes of the interstate, near Cedar Bluff Road when he was hit by a black SUV.
The unidentified victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver involved in the crash waited for police to arrive. It is unclear if that individual will face any charges at this time.
