WILLIAMSON CO., TN – A criminal suspect was struck and killed by a car on I-840 Thursday morning after they ran into oncoming traffic.
According to WKRN, the fatal collision occurred on I-840 eastbound near mile marker 42 around 8:30 AM.
Police reportedly witnessed the pedestrian walking along the shoulder of I-840. When police turned on their lights to approach the pedestrian, they turned and ran into oncoming traffic.
The pedestrian was fatally struck and died at the scene.
I-840 eastbound remained closed until 11:00 AM Thursday.
