NASHVILLE, TN – One person was killed in a fatal single-vehicle accident in southeast Nashville in the early hours of Sunday morning.
According to WKRN, the fatal crash occurred at the intersection of Murfreesboro Pike and Donelson Pike around 12:30 AM on January 30th.
The victim was reportedly driving a 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe eastbound when they lost control of the vehicle. The Chevrolet crossed into the westbound lanes, crashed into a drainage culvert, and rolled multiple times.
The driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, was ejected from the vehicle. They unfortunately died at the scene of the crash.
Metro police state that excessive speed contributed to the fatal crash.
Tennessee Highway Patrol continues to investigate the accident.
