KNOXVILLE, TN – A man from Wartburg died on Wednesday after being struck by a semi-truck near the Turkey Creek shopping area.
According to WATE, the man was hit at about 4:30 a.m. while walking on Parkside Drive near Turkey Cove Lane.
Investigators say the victim was wearing dark clothing and laying in the roadway prior to the crash. The truck driver was unable to see the man through heavy rain and fog and ended up fatally striking him.
Impairment is not suspected at this time.
