NASHVILLE, TN – A driver who crashed his SUV into a rock wall in January has been charged with the death of his passenger, Fox 17 reports.
The fatal collision happened on eastbound I-24 at Haywood Lane on January 23, 2021. Police arrived on the scene to find that an SUV had struck a rock wall, rolled over, and ejected both its 43-year-old driver and his 30-year-old passenger. The passenger died at the scene, while the driver was rushed to the hospital in critical condition. He has since recovered.
Police believe he was under the influence of methamphetamine and other illegal drugs at the time of the crash. He has been jailed on a $100,000 bond for charges of vehicular homicide by intoxication, driving on a suspended license, and no proof of insurance.
