NASHVILLE, TN – A bicyclist has died after they were struck and killed by a vehicle in South Nashville Sunday morning.
According to WKRN, the fatal collision took place at the intersection of Nolensville Pike and Morton Avenue around 5:30 AM on January 30th.
The bicyclist was reportedly attempting to cross Nolensville Pike when they were struck by a 2000 Chevrolet Cavalier. The driver of the Chevrolet states that they did not see the bicyclist and were unable to stop in time.
The bicyclist was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center. They succumbed to their injuries shortly after their arrival.
The driver of the Chevrolet remained at the scene and is not currently facing any charges.
Tennessee Highway Patrol and Metro police continue to investigate the fatal crash.
