SMITH CO., TN – Minor injuries were reported after a semi truck collided with a Tennessee Highway Patrol unit Thursday evening.
According to FOX 17, the two-vehicle collision took place on I-40 eastbound near mile marker 258 on January 6th.
The driver of the semi truck reportedly lost control of the vehicle after hitting a patch of ice. The semi truck subsequently overturned and collided with a Tennessee Highway Patrol vehicle.
Several people reported minor injuries. The total number of people injured is unknown at this time.
Tennessee Highway Patrol continues to investigate the crash. Authorities request that drivers use extreme caution on the roads.
